Be Grateful

Your best weapon against depression, stress, anxiety and all things associated with these elements, is being grateful. Be grateful for the things you have. Repeat them to yourself when you wake up, and before you go to bed. Whenever you are feeling overwhelmed, remember these things. Don’t just say them, believe them.

I am grateful for:

  • I am grateful for my friends
  • I am grateful for my family
  • I am grateful for my girlfriend, the love we share and the relationship we have. For all the smiles and laughs, the hugs and kisses. For all changes and improvements we’re making
  • I am grateful for the roof over my head, the place that I live, the amenities it offers, the bed I sleep in, the computer I write from, my refrigerator and the food it stores for me.
  • I am grateful for my dog, and the excitement she brings to go on walks and play ball
  • I am grateful to have a car – no matter how much it costs me 😉
  • I am grateful for the opportunities that lie before me
  • I am grateful to be able to pursue my dreams
  • I am grateful for the books I have, and all that they teach me
  • I am grateful for my new passion and pursuit of meditation, and all that it has given me
  • I am grateful for my level of awareness
  • I am grateful for my abundance
  • I am grateful for my love and appreciation of nature and the universe
  • I am grateful for the love I have from so many people and animals
  • I am grateful to be alive, in this world, in this galaxy, in this universe
  • I am grateful for all the things that I have, and all that I love

Saying these things, (more importantly believing these things) makes me happy. My troubles disappear. My worries and stress lessened. My head clear and calm.

I truly believe this approach can work for anyone, and I hope that people give it a try. They say that once one person does something, that others around them instantly have the ability to do the same. Maybe it’s already happening…I hope so.

The Power of 2 Words – “I AM

The power of “I am” is immense. Believing in , and loving ourselves, is one of the greatest powers we can have – and as unfortunate as it may be that it took me nearly 28 years to believe it, I am so grateful to believe in and love myself now.

The world was always a chaotic and unstable place for me, mostly because of the way I felt about myself. Sound familiar? Luckily it doesn’t have to be this way. Once we change our thoughts (about ourselves, and the way we see the world) our lives begin to follow – our attitude improves, as does our relationships, our feelings, and our outlook on all aspects of life.

I have spent many hours reading, watching and listening to positive affirmations, and researching the “Power of I am” I have shared many of these videos and I hope they have helped people. Putting them out into the universe, and experiencing these things myself – I am confident they have, as we are ALL connected.

But what I want to do is add my own list of the things that I feel that I am, and in doing so, they are the things anyone reading this are as well.

  • I am secure
  • I am protected
  • I am caring
  • I am strong
  • I am wonderful
  • I am powerful
  • I am growing

  • I am source

  • I am upbeat
  • I am persistent
  • I am motivated
  • I am truth
  • I am who I am

Make your own list of whatyou are, and add to it whenever you can. Repeat them over and over again, and begin to believe. Your life will forever we better for it. And remember, you deserve it.


Everything is going to be okay, go see Mother Earth

No matter how overwhelmed you feel, or down, depressed, or negative as you may be – realize that everything is going to be okay. Saying it helps, and the more you say it the more you start to believe it.

I was in a funk for several days, stressing about all of the recent changes in my life, things not working out the way I wanted/expected, and worrying about all the things I have to do now. I was quiet, sleeping and being lazy – which only added to it. Then I took a couple of walks outside. I went to the beach and I did a few guided meditations in the sun, I read for awhile, walked a couple miles with my feet in the sand, and magically I was healed.ImageImageImageImageImage

Meditation really does work, and so does nature. The sun heals, the waves heal, getting out and feeling with wind, and hearing the ocean – all are therapeutic. Any time we go out and submerge ourselves in nature, and get in tune/touch with ourselves (our inner voice) we can bring ourselves out of any funk.

Therapy is great and all, but so is Mother Earth, and she is free and readily available and abundant. No appointment needed.

Live in harmony with yourself. Love yourself. Be present in this moment. You are connected to the universe, but only if you are connected with yourself. Believe in, and love yourself. Do not judge, do not criticize – just understand and accept. You can do anything you want to do, if your mind is in the right place. Be centered. Be happy. Live in harmony.


We are the Problem, and the Solution

I have always believe that I could do anything that I wanted. However, growing up that mostly applied to breaking rules, getting projects finished last second (and still pulling off a good grade), going to college, playing sports, being good at things, and accomplishing my dreams and goals. Getting older though I began to lose hope, broken by my shortcomings and my failures – or so I thought. But that was before I ever thought about consciousness, loving yourself, gratitude, appreciation, and a higher being. Looking back now, things have never been as bad as I had thought, and things are better than I even realize now. It is our MIND that determines these things, it is how we perceive things, and how we choose to look at them. Look – nothing is perfect, and it never will be perfect, because we don’t live in a perfect world. But if we continue to learn, and teach ourselves (and others) and work on ourselves, and look at the things we have to be happy for (versus the things we are unfortunate for) and we are grateful, appreciative, and thankful for everything – then we have a lot better chance of being happy in this lifetime. We are only here for a moment, and then our lives are over. It is not a race, it is not a competition, and it is certainly not to be lived unhappily. Live life with purpose, YOUR purpose. Do what you love and do it often. Help yourself and help others. Grow spiritually, consciously, compassionately, and however else you wish to do so, but grow. Take responsibility for your actions, and stop blaming other people. Only we can change ourselves, and no one else. If there is something you don’t like, stop doing it. If there is something you love doing, and you are not doing it – start. You are a wonderful, beautiful, fantastic, loving person. Love yourself. Believe in yourself. And begin being the solution you need in your life. Anything is possible when you believe in it, and you work towards it. Much love.

As I continue to learn, listen and read – “Each day is a new beginning”, “Let go of the past”, “each moment is all we have”

The more I search for answers, the more I come to these same simple answers. Except they’re not simple to apply if you have been taught, and trained yourself to do, think, feel, believe otherwise. However you CAN do it. You can wake up each morning and say, “today is going to be a wonderful fucking day!” and you can let go of the past, and you can live in the moment. You CAN do anything you want. It may take some time to reprogram, and unlearn – but be patient with it, take your time, be good to yourself, don’t ask too much of yourself (it’s not a race) – you can do that too.

Stop the worry. Stop the stress.

Stop worrying, and stop stressing – they’re not good for you, and they do nothing for your cause. If something is causing you worry or stress, remove it from you. Worrying or stressing about something will not work to your benefit, it will do quite the opposite. Either way, if it is something that has to get done, it will get done – and that will be up to you to do it.

Whatever it is you have to do, do it out of love, and be grateful to be in the situation of doing it – whatever it may be. Enjoy what life puts in front of you, and make the best of it. At the end of the day, everything is going to be alright. There are certain situations where this is difficult, and may not apply – but the more we apply these ideals, the easier our lives will be.

Stress and worry is a disease that we carry with us, and for many of us, we have been taught and/or taught ourselves to live this way. But just as we were taught these things, we can unlearn them, and evolve into new patterns and habits that will benefit us greatly.

As soon as we begin to break the chains, is the moment we begin to break free from the things that hold us back. It is a choice, and we can take charge of our lives. It is a journey, and it will not be easy (for things take time to unlearn) but we will continue to grow each moment we choose better alternatives. May your day be calm, mellow, stress-free and happy.

The time is now, do it. Stop fear. Empower yourself. You are amazing, and you are powerful. Appreciate the hard work you have done. You deserve everything. Take a deep breath, and believe. You are happiness, you are peace, you are bliss, you are extraordinary, you are a leader, you are kind, you are strength, you can achieve all that you dream. You are the answer to everything. Do whatever it is you need to do, and do it now.
