Learn from Life

18 Oct

Life is one big crazy, fun, scary, wild adventure. Each day I learn something new, and lately I’ve been learning several important lessons. It is sometimes hard to accept, but for the most part I believe in the truth, and if I see it, then it is much easier to accept and incorporate. At a very early age most of us develop patterns and habits. And until they are brought to our attention (like a thinking pattern, or a coping mechanism, our way of dealing, our attitude, the way we react, the way we behave) it is hard to fix. But if we are open to discovering ourselves, and open to accept and correct them, by removing our ego, and letting go of our fear – then it’s not so bad. Change doesn’t have to be difficult, but if it becomes so, it is also alright to slow it down. We can’t expect to change a pattern or habit we’ve had for most of our lives in a single day, a week, or even a year. But being conscious of our problems, and understanding where they come from is a big part of figuring these things out, and discovering a way to resolve them and create new patterns and habits that will help improve our lives.

From simple things, like changing our morning routines, or the ways we deal with stress, or how we think or feel in certain situations; to more difficult things like changing how we feel or react in certain situations – the more we look inward, and analyze what is going on (how they became this way, what causes them, etc.) and then figuring out a way to change them, and make them better

Taking responsibility for ourselves is the best thing we can do, and it’s really the only person we can be responsible for. Others should not control our lives, our feelings, or our actions. Only we can do that. The moment we stop worrying about what everyone else is doing, is the moment we start living our own lives and that is truly living.
